Having a baby changes everything about you and your body. It seems like celebrities are able to quickly get their bodies to bounce back after baby, but it turns out, even supermodels have insecurities about their bodies post-baby. Gisele Bündchen is now opening up about motherhood and how she opted for breast augmentation after breastfeeding her children. However, she quickly regretted that decision.

In the late 90s, designer Alexander McQueen nicknamed Bündchen “The Body” after she walked topless down his runway. So the pressure for her to have a “perfect body” was very real. In her new memoir Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, she writes that in 2015, after breastfeeding her two children children, Benjamin and Vivian, for 18 months each—her breasts were left “much smaller” and “slightly lopsided.

"Suddenly, I was very self-conscious about the way they looked," she shared with People magaizne. “I was always praised for my body, and I felt like people had expectations from me that I couldn’t deliver. I felt very vulnerable, because I can work out, I can eat healthy, but I can’t change the fact that both of my kids enjoyed the left boob more than the right. All I wanted was for them to be even and for people to stop commenting on it.”

She decided to have a plastic surgery to correct her breasts, but as soon as she woke up from surgery, she immediately regretted her decision to go under the knife.

"I felt like I was living in a body I didn't recognize," she explained. "For the first year, I wore [baggy] clothes because I felt uncomfortable...I felt angry and depressed. I'd done something for myself, but mostly to try to please others."

Bündchen added that her husband, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was a constant source of support during this time. “He just said, ‘I love you no matter what’ and that I looked beautiful,” she says. “This was definitely another lesson: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. But I wish I would have learned that a different way.”

According to the mom-of-two, she felt many people look at her life and assume it’s perfect. Now she wants to share her insecurities, struggles with motherhood and marriage, as well as give some insight into how she is dealing with anxiety and stress so others can understand her journey.
