Annie and David's love story began in Thailand on 90 Day Fiance, and their journey continued to the United States on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After! Fans of the show know Annie is passionate about her cooking and the culture of Thai cuisine.

If you want to cook like Annie, check out her recipe for a simple Thai Red Curry that she says everyone will love!

Here's what she had to say about what makes her homeland cuisine so special.

How did you begin cooking?

In Thai culture, cooking, eating, and family are an important part of life. Thai families spend many hours sitting around talking, laughing, and telling stories during meals. My parents worked on the farm for many hours a day. My mom and dad would come in from the farm and then cook for us. I am the oldest and my younger brother is 6 years younger. I felt very bad for my parents, as they were so tired after a long, hot day in the fields. I felt so bad for them. So, I asked my mom to teach me how to cook when I was 9 years so I could help with my younger brother and cousins. My mom was worried about me cooking, because we use an open fire with fire wood. We did not have a western kitchen with stoves and ovens.

What was the first thing you learned?

The first thing my mom taught me was to make was sticky rice. It is a staple of our cooking, because with every meal we would eat this type of rice as it keeps us full longer and stays with us throughout the day. Then, I asked my mom to teach me how to make a meal, because I knew that food and family are important to having a happy life. The next thing I learned was how to make an omelet. I would make the eggs and rice for my brother and cousins. They loved my cooking--I don't know if it was because they were hungry or really liked my food! But I was so happy that people loved my cooking it made me want to learn how to make many different dishes.

When my parents went to work in the city to help the family, the kids would stay with Grandma and Grandpa. My grandmother cooked many dishes that were too salty for me. So I started cooking for them and they loved it! Those were some of the happiest times of my life; sitting with family and watching them enjoy my food. Cooking is my life, whether I am in Thailand, America or anywhere else. If I have my cooking I am happy!

What do you think about American food?

Personally, I don't care for American food. To me it is very bland and not spicy. Most Thai people think of American food as pizza, tacos and hamburgers, I know American food is vast based on the different cultures, including Mexican, Italian, and German and so on. I found that I like real cheese and meats that are deli meats. In general I will always love my Thai food. Along with the flavor and nourishment, to me it is filled with many beautiful memories of family and friends gathering together and enjoying the basics of life.
