It’s hard to pass up buying a new candle when you walk past them in the store. Their pleasant aroma and Zen vibe are the perfect addition to your home. While lighting a candle may not seem like it’s a big deal, moms everywhere are quitting this habit.

It is no secret that candles are filled with artificial fragrances. What a lot of people don’t know is the secret damages that these are taking on your health. Lighting candles ruins the quality of air in your home. You are consistently breathing in chemicals, artificial fragrances, and fillers that can wreak havoc on your body form the inside out.

The main reason why moms are quitting these harmful candles are because of the effects on human organs. Artificial fragrances release Volatile Organic Compounds which damage your nervous, endocrine, and respiratory systems.

Many candle and fragrance companies in general are protected by the FDA. They do not have to disclose what is in their products in order to sell them. That means candle you buy that is labeled as 100 percent organic, may be completely artificial and contain harmful ingredients.

Lighting candles is also extremely bad for the environment. Releasing toxic chemicals into the air is a form of pollution and damages the Earth’s o-zone layer.

While candles are habitual, relaxing, and cozy, many moms have decided that they do not want these toxic chemicals around their family. It is especially important for these moms to protect their kids from the harmful benefits of breathing in polluted air from a young age.

If you are looking for alternatives to candles, essential oils are an amazing all-natural option. They come in tons of amazing scents that can mimic your favorite candles in a healthy, chemical-free way.

Moms everywhere have made the switch to this toxic free lifestyle and have no desire to light a candle in their home ever again.
