Highlights From Season 7

From emergency deliveries and family drama to heartwarming events, here are the most unforgettable moments from this season of Unexpected so far. Do you remember them all?

8th Grade Dad

This season, we met Bella (15) and Hunter (13). The couple began dating when Bella was 12 and Hunter was 10, on and off. Hunter found out that Bella was pregnant when he was 12 turning 13 in 8th grade, making him the youngest parent featured. They explained that their families were super close and living across the street made things easier as they prepared for the baby.

Amya's Difficult Birth

Amya (16) and her boyfriend, Jose (16), welcomed a health baby boy, but the birth wasn't smooth sailing. The pain and pushing of a natural birth was too much for Amya, so she accepted an epidural. Then, their baby's heart rate dropped during labor and if it dropped again, Amya would have to undergo an emergency C-section. The idea of Amya being rushed to the emergency room to give birth scared Jose and Amya's mother, Misty. Luckily, Amya powered through and after 24 hours, their baby Sammy was delivered!

Isabella & Bryce's Blowout

Isabella (18) and Bryce (18) couldn't see eye to eye about several aspects of their relationship. The couple went to Bryce's grandparents' house for a family dinner and Isabella wasn't acting like her usual self. Eventually, she opened up about her issues with Bryce and emphasized that she wanted Bryce to get a job and make an effort, and that she didn't feel very supported by Bryce's family. Bryce's grandparents, Sue and Kevin, got defensive and said that Bryce wasn't meant for a minimum wage life and they didn't want him to settle for less. They felt that Isabella's mom, Tasha, was too involved and they didn't like that she was telling Bryce that he needed to work.

Later on, Isabella saw Bryce send a message to his friend that alluded to him cheating on her. She stormed out, the family followed, and they argued in the front yard. Isabella called her mom and had her sister come pick her up — but not before Bryce had Sue retrieve the sentimental necklace that he gifted Isabella. With the baby coming in just two months, things felt even more tense and strained than before.

Missing the Baby Shower

Mia (16) and Jessie (16) gathered their friends and family for a baby shower. However, someone very important missed the celebration altogether and showed up at the very end. Just as guests were packing up to leave, Mia's mom, Nicole, arrived. Mia explained that her mother wasn't a stable parent and said that their relationship wasn't a good one. Mia was disappointed to say the least.

Nicole let everyone know that her car broke down on the way there, but Jessie's mom, AK, had heard several car-related excuses from Nicole before. Although AK wasn't thrilled, she still wanted to get to know Nicole better for Mia and the baby's sake.

The Pregnancy Simulator

Hunter thought that Bella was being "dramatic" about her pregnancy symptoms, so Bella wanted Hunter to know what pregnancy really felt like. She wrapped him up in fake breasts and a belly and attached a painful contraption that simulated contractions. After a few powerful zaps, Hunter finally understood what Bella was talking about.

Hormones Kicking In

Amya experienced heightened emotions and irritability following the birth of her and Jose's son. She found herself getting annoyed by the little things Jose did and she let her feelings fester until they became larger than she wanted. She said that Jose laughed and smiled every time she got upset and he said that was his love language. The young parents were quick to learn that the this transition was going to be rough, but they were glad to get through it together.

Graduation Day

Mia graduated high school early and didn't let her pregnancy hold her back! It was an important day for everyone involved and Mia felt so supported. When she looked out into the crowd, she saw her dad, Jessie, and AK. However, she didn't see her own mom, who was just with her this morning helping her get ready. Of course, Mia felt upset and didn't know where her mom was, but she decided not to let that ruin her big day. Instead, she focused on her big achievement and the people who showed up for her.

Welcome, Wesley!

Bella and Hunter's baby weighed over 9 pounds and during the mom-to-be's final checkup, so her doctor suggested a C-section delivery. Bella and her mom were hoping that she could just be induced, but the risks were too high. The couple's families were both concerned about the procedure, but they moved forward. The C-section was quick and efficient, and Bella and Hunter welcomed their son, Wesley, into the world!

Although it was a beautiful moment, Hunter's father didn't come to the hospital for Wesley's birth. This caused Hunter to shut down emotionally. After so many moments like this one, Hunter said he aspired to be the opposite of his father and strived to be a good dad.

The Ultimatum

Following the rift between their families, Bella and Bryce went to counseling. They seemed to make a breakthrough during their session and decided to hang out afterwards. Then, things took a turn. Bella gave Bryce an ultimatum: she'd continue counseling if he went to anger management. Bella's mom wanted Bryce to take anger management classes after hearing about incidents from the couple's past. Bryce refused and drove away, leaving their issues unresolved.

A Tearful Date

Amya's mom agreed to watch baby Sammy so the new parents could go on a date. She wanted Amya and Jose to have some time together that didn't revolve around their son and they were excited! They had fun at an arcade, but when they decided to drive go-karts, everything shifted. Amya was already feeling insecure about her post-baby body and when she couldn't buckle the seatbelt on her go-kart, it hit a nerve. She walked away, leaving to Jose drive on the course by himself. She called her mom in tears and admitted that she was embarrassed and wanted to go home.

Pregnant Again?!

Bella and Hunter began having sex again 4 days after baby Wesley was born, but they assured their parents that they were using protection. Hunter felt paranoid about getting Bella pregnant again, which prompted Bella to take a digital test. Bella's mom was horrified at the idea of a second pregnancy right after her grandson's birth and the fact that it was a real possibility was a shocking.

Stressed to the Max

Mia's mom and Jessie's mom fought over taking the parents-to-be to Mia's final checkup. Due to all the stress, Mia was told to return later in the day for induction. It wasn't what she was expecting to hear at all. Since she and Jessie were teens, they were allowed 4 people in the delivery room, which allowed both moms to attend. While there was no fighting there, there were other issues to come.

Mia received an epidural, but she wasn't progressing as expected. The doctor's suggestion was an emergency C-section. Mia's birth was full of surprises, from one to the next.
