While we love summer, we've had our fill of sweltering heat and are ready to welcome our favorite season of the year - sweater season! It's time to pull out (or go shopping for) those cozy, colorful knits that we're so eager to snuggle up in as soon as the temperatures begin to dip. Here's a sampling of sweaters in a range of colors, styles, and fabrics that will have you ready to say, "So long, summer."

1. Dusty Rose Cowl Neck

Breakaway from the typical fall spectrum of rich reds, oranges, and golds with this ultra-feminine dusty rose sweater. The plush material and cowl neck are sure to keep you super comfortable while the long length and circle hem provide just enough coverage to pair with your most fitting jeans or leggings.

2. Pumpkin Spice

If you're a #PSL junkie, then this is the sweater for you. The burnt orange color is flattering, and the shorter length is ideal for layering when the temperatures are still fluctuating. The cropped turtleneck, rib knitting, and large cuffs add a touch of style to the boxy cut.

3. Oversized Chenille

You'll want to spend every fall weekend in this oversized chenille pullover sweater. It's a great example of slouchy meets feminine in a muted taupe that pairs well with most any outfit and weekend activity - whether it's lounging on the couch or brunching with friends.

4. Two-Way Sweater

Who says your most comfortable fall sweater can't also be a little sexy? This ribbed sweater can be worn two ways - with the knot in the front or the back - serving double duty in your closet. Either way you wear it, a silky camisole or lacy bralette is all you need to make this sweater your fall date night go-to.

5. Embrace the Poncho

Ponchos are back again and are a great way to add some fashionable warmth to your fall outfits. With its gray color and simple diamond and ribbed accents, this poncho is a great entry level example for those nervous about taking the poncho plunge.

6. Sweater Envy

Prepare to create some sweater envy among your friends with this chic bronze sweater. With a choker neck and eyelet pattern, this is an eye-catching addition for your fall wardrobe. And the loose-knit makes it lightweight, ideal for transitioning from warmer to cooler days.

7. Perfect Slouch

If it's the perfect slouchy sweater you're looking for, look no further. The warm, rusty color is quintessential fall and the ultra-soft knit makes it extra snuggly. This may be one of those sweaters that you'll never want to take off.

It's hard to say what we love most about sweaters - the softness, the warmth, the relief in no longer having to worry about our beach body. Or maybe it's the fact that with any of these sweaters, you can just add your favorite pair of skinny jeans or leggings, whatever shoe suits the occasion, and you've got a foolproof fall outfit. Is it no surprise that we get so excited for sweater season?
