Pick Up These Fun Activities

Amy and Tammy don’t shy away from sharing their hobbies on 1000-lb Sisters, dabbling in arts, craftsm and games. This season, Amy even dives into singing and recording her song, "Pounds Hollow." Being passionate about something is a great feeling. Inspired by the ladies' favorite activities featured on 1000-lb Sisters, we rounded up a starter list of seven hobbies to try.

Painting

Amy took up painting and last season and even presented in an art show! You don’t need to be an expert to pick up a paint brush and see where inspiration takes you. Even if you don’t end up with a masterpiece, painting is found to reduce stress related hormones, so it’s a win-win.

Min Golf

Playing mini golf isn’t just for kids, it’s fun at any age. Tammy loves it and we have a feeling you will too. There are plenty of outdoor courses, indoor courses, and even glow-in-the-dark options to try.

Jewelry Making

Tammy makes beaded bracelets and is often sharing her creations on social media! Making jewelry is fun and it can be easy depending on the project you choose. Plus, who doesn’t love jewelry? Your new hobby can result in great gifts!

Air-Dry Clay

If you love pottery, but don’t have access to a kiln, air dry clay sculpting is a great way to mold and create without the wait. You can get air-dry clay at most crafts stores. It’s the perfect activity to do with friends, kids, or solo!

Pickleball

There’s a reason pickleball is all the rage. It’s an easy sport to pick up even if you aren’t an athlete. Pickleball courts have popped up indoors and outside across the country, so it’s easy to find a place to play. Grab a paddle, a few balls, and in no time, you’ll be mastering the dink.

Knitting

Knitting is a great hobby to take on because you can pick it up and put it down whenever you please. With winter approaching, it’s a great time to make blankets, scarves, and winter hats. Knitting is easy to take with you wherever you go too, even if it’s 15 minutes in a waiting room.

Learning a New Language

Great hobbies can also challenge your brain. Learning a foreign language is one of those hobbies. There are so many apps to use nowadays, likw Duolingo and Babbel, to pick up a new language in a fun and inviting way.
