Charlotte's Unforgettable Mom Moments
One of our favorite storylines from And Just Like That... Season 1 was Charlotte's parenting journey. Charlotte simply loves motherhood and raising her two kids. However, parenting has its challenges — as well as its super sweet rewards. Take a look back at Charlotte's most memorable parenting moments from And Just Like That..., and get excited for Season 2 on Max!
The Oscar De La Renta Dress
Charlotte and Harry's daughter, Lily, was set to perform at the Manhattan School of Music. Charlotte bought an Oscar De La Renta dress for their younger child, Rock, to wear to the recital, but Rock wanted absolutely nothing to do with the floral getup. Eventually, Charlotte compromised by letting Rock style the dress however they wanted. With the creative addition of a tuxedo t-shirt and an owl hat, it was definitely a look!
A Musical Genius
Charlotte couldn't hide how proud she felt during Lily's piano performance. She was in awe of Lily's talent, as if it was her very first time experiencing it.
Explaining Grief
Charlotte sat down with her kids to discuss death and mourning after Mr. Big’s passing. Her heartfelt explanation reminded them how fragile and special life is, and that they all had each other’s support.
"I Want to Do the Right Thing."
After Rock explained they didn’t feel like a girl and didn’t want to be called one either, Charlotte took a minute to let everything sink in. She asked Anthony for some guidance and tried to figure out the best way to validate her child.
Protecting Lily
Lily nearly walked in on Charlotte and Harry in the bathroom, so Charlotte told Lily she was checking Harry for cancer —something she blurted out in order to protect her child. Later on, Charlotte and Lily got into a fight about the photos Lily was posting on her private social media account. They both had time to cool off and Charlotte realized that avoiding difficult conversations in an attempt to protect her daughter’s innocence wasn’t actually helping. She and Lily finally sat down and chatted about the social media account and the feelings around it — and most importantly, Charlotte assured Lily that Harry was in good health.
They Mitzvah
Rock was changing, growing, and even got a new haircut — and Charlotte wanted to show full support. So, she began planning Rock a "they mitzvah." She stayed by Rock's side and encouraged them to study their passages for the ceremony.
The First Tampon
With a Hamptons pool party at stake, Lily asked Charlotte for help using a tampon for the first time. Charlotte explained several techniques and even watched a how-to video with Lily until she was ready. All of their prep made them late to dinner, but it was totally worth it.
Mazel Tov, Charlotte!
And just like that, Charlotte and Harry planned a lively they mitzvah for Rock, but there was just one problem: Rock didn’t prepare and didn’t want to go through with it. Instead of forcing Rock to read from the Torah in front of their friends and family, Charlotte went up on the bimah and did it herself! Although Charlotte’s perfect event didn’t go as planned, she found a way to make it even more special — a moment that she, Lily, Rock, and Harry would never forget.
