Neon Look
“This was the first gown Christopher Palu and I collaborated on. It was for my Drag Race promo shoot, and he designed and built it in under a week. I was blown away when he sent the sketch. I just said, “YES!!!” I even sent the sketch to BobbiePinz of Bobbiepinz.com and he created the perfect updo to compliment the neon gown. The jewelry started with custom ear cuffs that Christopher created; I embellished with pieces I glued over my ears; and I finished the look with extra hologram diamonds glued to my décolletage. Fun fact, the skirt comes off and I’ve worn the leotard all over the world!”
Hunger Game of Thrones Look
“After the slam dunk by Christopher Palu with my promo gown, I asked him to create my gown for the red carpet and finale taping of RuPaul’s Drag Race season nine. Our inspiration was “Hunger Game of Thrones.” After we filmed the finale, I shot the gown with more editorial makeup, a wig by my friend Wigs by Marc and earrings by Amped Accessories.”
Dorothy Look
“This fantasy was a LONG time in the making. My all-time favorite movie is THE WIZARD OF OZ. I always wanted to create an authentic Dorothy look. My incredible friend Florence D’Lee lovingly nailed the details, and the genius Marco Wigs got the iconic pigtail braids just right. Special thanks to Felipe Gonzalez for loaning me his adorable Cairn Terrier, Squire!. Fun fact, you can’t see them in this pic, but John Brandon made me the most gorgeous ruby slippers.”
Classic Black Look
“If I’m totally honest, I might just be the happiest when in a black dress. Classic, elegant and it fits so many occasions. This dark princess number is another masterpiece by Florence D’Lee with my signature ‘Alexis’ style from BobbiePinz. The jewels are by Rox by Cox."
Sparkly Look
“This very sparkly gown is the latest by my friend Christopher Palu, which he created for my Lincoln Center debut. He wanted to accentuate the thousands of Swarovski crystals on this fabric with the draped skirt, and we knew we wanted a shoulder ‘moment.’ He brilliantly came up with the butterfly wing. That inspired me to pair it with this nymph like hair from Australian wig couturier Wigs By Vanity."
