Janelle and Kody met in 1989 and became friends. In the early 1990's, Janelle became enthralled with the Native American culture and in 1992, being single, decided it was time to have a grand adventure. She bought a tipi, quit her job and moved to Wyoming to set up her new life on Kody's parents ranch. It was November in Wyoming, so her tipi days - at least living in the tipi - lasted less than a week. Meri and Kody were down at the ranch for a trip and invited Janelle to visit with them for a few days at their place in Montana. While visiting with them, something sparked between she and Kody. Things progressed and they were married the next year in 1993. Together they have 6 kids: Logan, Maddie, Hunter, Garrison, Gabriel and Savannah. In 2018 Janelle and Kody’s daughter Maddie welcomed the first Brown grandchild, a baby boy named Axel!
