Mary takes a trip to New York City. Katie Ann tags along with Mary and Kate, and talks to a New York guy! In Pennsylvania, Abe, Rebecca, Sabrina, and Jeremiah talk babies and shunning … while Andrew and Chapel have an important appointment.

Abe and Rebecca introduce their newborn baby to the Schmucker family, but when Sabrina shows up, her pregnancy takes a scary turn. Jeremiah takes on the Schmucker ladies. And Mary argues with Chester about the church, while Chapel gets some news.

The trip to China continues as the Klein family visits the Forbidden City and takes an immersive lesson in Chinese cooking. Then, the family climbs to the top of the Great Wall and reflects on what life could have been without Will.

14 year old Jazz is the typical teenage girl balancing friends, family, school and teenage hormones, but Jazz is also transgender. Worried about keeping male puberty at bay, Jazz and her mom visit the doctor to discuss her hormone test results.

Jazz tells her parents she wants to have gender confirmation surgery before she completes high school, but learns there may be obstacles along the way. Jeanette struggles with the reality of the twins going off to college.

After a bottom surgery consultation, Jazz and her parents process the troubling diagnosis. Jazz also confronts her friend Mya's brother, who struggles to accept Mya's transition. Later, Jazz unwittingly finds herself on a date with a transgender boy.

Jazz and Jeanette agree to participate in Grandpa Jack's presentation on transgender issues, but worry they may be confronted by hate like at last year's town hall. The family travels to Pennsylvania to explore more options for her bottom surgery.
