Jazz Jennings


Born in 2000 as Jaron Jennings to parents Jeannette and Greg Jennings, Jazz accepted her female identity at a young age. At only 4, Jennings began living her authentic life and quickly became one of the youngest members of the transgender community. She is a prominent advocate for LGBTQ rights and uses her platform promote equality, education and activism.

In 2007 Jennings and her parents co-founded TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation to assist transgender youth. Then, in 2013, Jennings created Purple Rainbow Tails—a company in which she creates hand-made mermaid tails to raise money for transgender children. As a teen, she balances being a young entrepreneur, public figure and a busy student. She loves playing soccer, making art and reading comic books.
