If the name Heidi Elnora sounds familiar, you might remember her from an early season of "Project Runway," where she first showcased her fashion prowess. The Birmingham, Alabama-born designer graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2002 and started her fashion career in Atlanta, designing children's clothing for Carter's. Bridal fashion had always been a dream in the back of Heidi's mind, and after her first appearance on reality TV, she put the blood, sweat and tears behind the organza and French lace.
Heidi launched her brand heidi elnora in November 2006 when she opened a boutique back in her hometown of Birmingham. She hired a talented team of garment artisans and established her place in the bridal fashion industry by constructing gowns with impeccable detail and modern lines. Heidi's gowns can be found in 24 boutiques across the world, including 14 Nordstrom locations, and her designs have been featured in publications like Brides Magazine, Town & Country and Martha Stewart Weddings.
In the fall of 2009, Heidi married Jeff Baker. The couple has two sons, Jack and Bo. When she's not sketching custom gowns or building the looks within her signature Build A Bride collection, Heidi devotes her time to the community. She is the mastermind behind Birmingham Fashion Week, which garners recognition for Southern fashion and seeks to benefit the local youth and economy.
