Zooey Deschanel was born in 1980 to a show business family: Her father, Caleb Deschanel, is a cinematographer, her mother, Mary Jo Deschanel, is an actress, and her sister, Emily Deschanel, is also an actress. Deschanel spent her childhood traveling with her father to movie sets around the world but hit the spotlight in 2003 as a carefree and lovable holiday sales clerk alongside Will Farrell in the movie Elf. Since then, she has released four albums with her band She & Him and has been nominated for an Emmy for her starring role in the hit comedy series “New Girl”.
