Sarah M. has been sentenced to a makeover by the style gurus of What Not to Wear. Sarah M's Makeover Pictures.

Sarah M.

Body Type: Thin and petite

Problem: Playing the dumb card as a strategy, but at what cost?

Sarah is a 25-year-old aspiring lawyer who knows how to argue her case in court, but when it comes to defending her barely legal style, the judgment is ... guilty. Because of her conservative upbringing, Sara rebelled with a scandalously skimpy teenage wardrobe, but now that's she about to become a stepmom to her fiance's three kids, her inappropriately trashy style is about to be subpoenaed. Can Sarah handle taking a hard look at herself and her style? Or will her defensive attitude drive the What Not to Wear team over the edge -- Clinton actually walked out at one point!

This outfit will not do!

Sarah's Fashion Don'ts:

  • Think that wearing something conservative on the top and provocative on the bottom balances out a look.
  • Mistake black for invoking power.
  • Show everything all the time -- sexiness is born out of self-confidence; hootchywear is just hootchywear.
  • A fuzzy pink bustier is rarely ever a good idea.

Sarah's Fashion Dos:

  • Use bold jewelry to stand out.
  • For casual mom clothes, look for patterns and colors to create a fun, approachable look.
  • Look for a dress with a deep plunge at the V-neck, but make sure its monochromatic and not tight to keep the sophistication level up.

Sarah M. becomes a classy beauty with the help of Ted and Carmindy.

Ted's Hair Transformation:

Ted wants to cut Sarah's hair. Guess what? She doesn't want to part with her stripper-length hair. Ted prevails with his decree, "You will learn not to mess with Ted Gibson."

Wash: Shampoo and Condition with Ted Gibson Products.

Cut: Angled snip of a swept bang.

Carmindy's Makeover:

Carmindy wants Sarah to quit getting her sun-kissed glow from the tanning bed since it can really age skin. She shows her the way of the bronzer.

Sarah's Step-by-Step Makeover:

  • Apply luminizing face primer to face and body.
  • Use a non-latex sponge to apply Sandy Beige Your Skin makeup all over your face including eyelids.
  • Spray airbrush makeup in Dark onto sponge and apply to temples, along sides of face and under cheekbones.
  • Fill in brows with Makeup Forever Brow Corrector in #2.
  • Sweep highlighter on top of cheekbones and apply it under brows and on inner corner of eyes, use the highlight shade from the Storm palette.
  • Line upper lash line with black liner.
  • Sweep on lid shade for the Quartz palette across lid from lash line to crease.
  • Use the contour shade from Quartz palette and smudge under lower lash line with angled brush.
  • Snip a pair of false lashes in half and use at the outer corner of eyes.
  • Apply black mascara on the top and bottom lashes; use a plastic applicator under lower lash line to prevent smudges.
  • Use the light concealer to touch up under the eyes.
  • Swirl on a touch of powder to the T-zone and then follow with Ethereal Blush on the apples of your cheeks.
  • Smooth on highlight around lips.
  • Apply lipstick and lip gloss.
