Theresa Caputo’s Marinara Sauce Recipe

  • 28 ounce can whole tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Coat pan with olive oil.
  2. Add chopped garlic and heat on low.
  3. Cut up tomatoes and add to pan along with juice from can.
  4. Once sauce starts to simmer, add basil, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve over your favorite pasta.
