Mama and her late husband bought Carlo's Bakery in 1964. They were a young married couple with a small family and a strong desire to stake their claim in the American dream. When her husband passed away in 1994, Mary was devastated but knew she had to remain strong for her five children, Buddy and his four older sisters; Lisa, Mary, Madeline and Grace.
Though she was tempted to sell the business, Mary never wavered. With dedication and a great deal of courage, she stuck it out. Now Carlo's is experiencing unprecedented success.
These days Mama does the books in the bakery. She is big ball of energy, always ready to belt out a tune or tell a great story. Mama is Buddy's biggest critic but also his number one fan.
