Abe experienced a series of firsts as he traveled to New York: his first plane ride, taxi ride and escalator ride. He confessed that he wants to get to know Rebecca better, and he learned a tough lesson about the high cost of room service!

Abe had a heartfelt visit with his mother, and even though she predicted he'd "never fit in," he was determined to give the city a shot. In addition to putting on English clothes, Abe worked up the courage to ask Rebecca out on a date.

Abe took Rebecca out on a date -- and he even brought her flowers! The dream date took an interesting turn when the taxi driver took them to a Chinese restaurant instead of a Mexican place, like he'd requested.

Abe learned more about Rebecca's family, and -- out of respect for her -- refused to watch a strip show with Jeremiah. He also explored a novel career option in the city: performing stunts! In his Amish community, there is no such thing as stunt falling.

Abe decided he was ready to propose to Rebecca, and he found the perfect engagement ring. "Rebecca deserves a lot more than what I could give her in the Amish," he said.

Abe proposed to Rebecca by writing "Will U Marry Me?" in the sand. The excitement of the engagement wore off when he learned from his mother that Rebecca had been married before. Abe couldn't understand why she hadn't told him.

When Abe returned home, he was shunned by his family and sought comfort from Rebecca. They visited a wedding planner to learn how to plan a celebration in the English tradition.

Abe got his ears pierced before the wedding, though Rebecca made him promise he'd take the earrings out for the big day. The piercings were a sign of his commitment to his new lifestyle, he said. "I might as well do something Amish kids don't do."

Abe got pretty heated about the stripper at his bachelor party, and he reflected later on the huge step he was taking with Rebecca. Jeremiah reminded him, "You can back out whenever you want." Of course, he didn't.
