After an incredible 70 hours of labor, Jill and Derick finally welcomed Baby Israel to the world. "His birth didn't go as expected," Jill told People. "But having him here - it's worth all of it. I wouldn't do anything differently."
Jill's labor started in Duggar-time (the family is frequently "relaxed" with their punctuality), with Baby Israel passing his March 24 due date by almost two weeks. At 41 weeks and five days, her water finally broke, but the baby was taking his time. After a long 20 hours of labor, Jill and Derick made the decision to head to the hospital to ensure the safety of Baby Israel.
Jill told People, "I was praying to God to give me strength," she recalls. "I was really scared and nervous, but I was praying."
The newest Dillard was finally delivered via C-section, per the doctors' recommendation, weighing in at a healthy 9-lbs and 10-oz. Jill, Derick and the baby are doing well and adjusting to their new lives together.
