Your Official “Self-Care Day” Itinerary

Repeat after me, self-care is not selfish! One of the most important things you can do is a self-care day. Whether you are a working woman, mom, entrepreneur, or student, you cannot perform at your best unless you take care of yourself first. You will be amazed what happens when you take the time pamper yourself and allow your body the recharge it desperately needs. We have mapped out an entire self-care day itinerary that we think everyone should do!

Sleep In

Today is not an alarm day. Turn it off and allow your body to wake up naturally! If you sleep in until 12PM, no worries! That means your body probably needed the rest and you should feel glad you gave yourself what you need.

Meditate

Not everyone is a regular meditator, but this is a great way to start off your self-care day! Mediation trains your mind to control your thoughts and think more positively. This will allow you to go into your day without stress and negative vibes hovering over you.

Make your favorite breakfast

Today is not a day to hold back. Want a warm stack of pancakes? Do it. Want a cold bowl of your favorite childhood cereal? Go for it. This is about what you want and what you feel your body needs.

Get back in bed

Nothing screams self-care day more than a classic breakfast in bed. Take a couple hours to binge watch your favorite show or read a good book. This is a time to recharge and to snuggle up in bed and be alone for a while. Sometimes all you need is just some time to yourself, a great meal, and a good movie!

Go for a walk

Get up and get moving! No need to do any intense workouts, simply take yourself on a walk. Walking is a great way to clear your head, release tension, and relive unwanted stress. This will get endorphins flowing through your body and make you feel amazing. So throw on a pair of sneakers and a good playlist and you're good to go!

Give yourself a facial

Pamper yourself and try an at-home facial! There are amazing DIY face masks that you can make at home with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. This will rejuvenate your skin and make you glow from within!

Take yourself on a date

Think of your ideal date. Maybe it's a movie, a nice dinner, or a glass of wine at your favorite bar. Now take yourself out! A lot of people forget that you can take yourself on dates whenever you want. It's a liberating and empowering feeling to have the confidence to take yourself out without anyone else there.

Have a treat

We all have that one treat that is our vice. We know it's not the healthiest thing, but it is food for the soul. Today is the day to treat yourself to whatever this is for you and enjoy every second of it!

Taking a self-care day is never a selfish thing to do. If anything, it only helps others because you are able to put your best foot forward. Everyone deserves a self-care day every now and again! Try these self-care practices that will make you glow from the inside out!
