For some brides, wedding dress shopping is daunting. It can seem like a lot of money and fuss - but it doesn't have to be! If you're a bride-to-be, try these five hacks to make wedding dress shopping a breeze.

Shop During 'Off' Hours
Bridal salons tend to be the busiest on weekends and evenings, especially if you're getting married during a popular wedding month. If you can, take a day during the week to go shopping. You'll get more time and attention from your consultant and you won't be overwhelmed by other women trying on dresses around you.

Trunk Shows
Many bridal salons host special events called trunk shows. Trunk shows are where designers bring their entire most recently collection. Not only will you be able to see every gown from the line, but you may even be able to meet and chat with the designer! It can also be easier to negotiate prices since many times trunk shows occur before the collection is widely available.

Keep It Simple
While it's easy to get caught up in the glitz and glam of wedding dresses, try starting with simple dresses that don't have any of the frill - the beading, the lace - to truly help you find the silhouette that works best for you. Once you find the style you want, you can start trying on dresses with different types of details.

Buy Last Season's Gowns
If you have your heart set on a designer but budget is an issue, try looking for dresses from past collections. They can often be found at a discounted price, and no one will know the difference!

Mix and Match
It's a common misconception that bridal gowns have to come as-is. The reality is that if you like the bodice of one dress and the skirt of another, many designers are able to accommodate that for you. That said, the more you divert from the original design, the more it may cost you.
