If you need a little extra happiness in your day, then you have to see the amazing Mighty Miss Maya in action! In the now viral video, four-year-old Maya is taking her first steps after recovering from an intense spinal surgery that was intended to help the Michigan child walk.

While doctors told Maya's parents that she could be walking in six months to a year, little Maya surprised everyone by taking her first steps just seven weeks after surgery. Her parents caught those steps on video and it pure joy -- for the little girl and for anyone watching.

"I'm walking!" Maya exclaims on video. "I'm walking! Yes!"

With her big brother and trusty dog by her side, Maya takes her first steps and keeps on going. "I even took a big step!" she says. "She's doing it. You've done it for like a minute," Maya's brother can be heard saying in the video.

Maya was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was a year old. But she's never let it slow her down, earning the nickname "Mighty Miss Maya." This video is just further proof of everything Maya can do and her Instagram account documents all of her daily adventures.

"First Steps - 4 years, 10 months I can't even put into words how we are feeling," the video is captioned. "Nothing seems to fit the enormity of this moment for us. We are beyond proud of our Mighty Girl."

So what's next for Maya? Now she will spend several weeks in physical therapy practicing her new skill. Her fifth birthday is just a few months away, and her parents thinks that by the time she is blowing out the candles on her birthday cake, Mighty Miss Maya will be hard to keep up with.
