Plenty of new parents consider a trip to the grocery store with their newborn a massive undertaking, but not Karen Edwards: The 32-year-old Londoner started taking her baby around the world at just ten weeks old.

Edwards and her partner, Shaun Bayes, were avid travelers before the birth of baby Esme two years ago -- Edwards has already been to 64 countries, she told Today Parents -- and ten weeks into her one-year maternity leave, they left for Southeast Asia as a family of three. Since then, Esme has visited 18 different countries on five continents, from France to New Zealand, and Edwards has navigated everything from packing to feeding ("She is the fussiest little girl I have ever met," said Edwards). Her stories of the family's adventures, which she shares at Travel Mad Mum, and Instagram feed have inspired other parents to follow her lead. But her best piece of advice for parents is just as relevant whether you're hopping a plan to Malaysia or just trying to get to that supermarket: "You don't need to bring the kitchen sink. Pack light."
