When Jax told his mom he wanted to cut his hair like his friend Reddy, she originally said no.

However, when she better understood the reason why he wanted to do that, a powerful message began to take hold.

"He said he couldn't wait to go to school on Monday with his hair like Reddy's so that his teacher wouldn't be able to tell them apart," this mom, Lydia Smith Rosebush, wrote on Facebook. "He thought it would be so hilarious to confuse his teacher with the same haircut."

But, when a photo of the two boys is attached to these words, the message becomes clear: "If this isn't proof that hate and prejudice is something that is taught I don't know what is. The only difference Jax sees in the two of them is their hair," wrote Rosebush.

Ultimately, Rosebush let her son get his haircut like his friend's. But, it doesn't stop there; Reddy was by Jax's side for the entire process and once it was completed, the two started to "switch places."

"I hope the world learns from the innocence of these two boys," said Rosebush. "Color doesn't matter to them, they're just friends and that's all that matters."
