Sophie and Katherine’s Egg Nog French Toast Recipe

Egg Nog French Toast
Makes 8 servings
  • 1 cup egg nog
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon McCormick cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick rum extract
  • 8 slices of challah bread (or your favorite bread)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (to melt in pan)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for serving)
  • 1/4 cup of confectioner's sugar (for garnish)
  1. Whisk together egg nog, eggs, sugar, nutmeg and rum extract in a bowl.
  2. In a small frying pan, over medium heat, melt a small pat of butter to coat the pan.
  3. Place one slice of bread inside the egg nog mixture and coat bread slice evenly with batter on all sides. Place in the frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then, gently flip over the slice of bread and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side.
  4. Transfer French toast to a plate and repeat with all slices of bread.
  5. Serve with maple syrup and a sifted dusting of confectioner's sugar, and enjoy!
    (Optional: Use a snowflake paper punch to create a stencil to use when dusting the confectioner's sugar to create sugar snowflakes on the pancakes.)
