"Hips Don't Lie" pop star Shakira may be a Grammy-winning artist, but her most important job is being a mom. She recently sat down with Parents Latina to share how she tries to balance singing, touring and keeping her two adorable little boys healthy and happy.

The 38-year-old has two sons, Milan, 2, and Sasha, 3 months, with soccer star Gerard Pique. Though they have jam-packed schedules (what parents don't?), they manage to handle co-parenting with a few modifications:

"Becoming a mom forced me to re-prioritize and make room for the things that are most important, while recognizing that there are things I can let go of and the world won't crumble around me," she told the magazine.

And, more importantly, she had some interesting things to say when she was asked how she was raising her boys to be modern men

"Growing up with a working mom is a start. I also think their dad is a good example of a modern man to emulate. Gerard and I pretty much share all parenting responsibilities, although I'm definitely the disciplinarian."

What a refreshing statement! With nearly 70 percent of women with kids under 18 in the workforce, according the US Department of Labor, we hope that all working moms can follow Shakira's lead and set a good example of a balanced relationship. We know that an even division of labor is important for marital happiness, and it gives us hope that this type of relationship is being applauded, especially by such a high-powered woman.
