Less than a month after their 1950s themed baby shower, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian welcomed a daughter at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.

On September 1, local WPBF 25 News producer Chris Shepherd tweeted, "NEW: Tennis star Serena Williams gives birth to a baby girl weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Mom and baby doing well."

Though they didn't find out whether they were having a boy or girl before the birth, both Williams and Ohanian said that they had a feeling it was a girl. "Obviously, [Serena] won the Australian Open while pregnant, and she remarked that she feels like it has to be a little girl," Ohanian told Jimmy Kimmel in August. "Because everything that little baby went through and handled like a champ, only a woman could be strong enough to take on."

The couple's famous friends -- including Beyonce, Ciara, Billie Jean King, and Rafael Nadal -- sent their congratulations on Twitter, while aunt Venus Williams, stepping onto the court at the U.S. Open just after her niece was born, told ESPN, "Obviously, I'm super excited. Words can't describe." Serena Williams could be back on the court with her sister in just a few months: She's said she plans to return to playing by January.
