See This Firefighter’s Generous Gesture After Waitress Picks Up Tab

At the end of a long day battling a blaze in New Jersey, a group of firefighters was delighted to see their meal had been paid for by the waitress at their diner.

Accompanied by their paid-in-full guest check was a note that read:

"Your breakfast is on me today -- Thank you for all that you do; for serving others & for running into the places everyone else runs away from. No matter your role, you are courageous, brave, and strong... Thank you for being bold and badass everyday! Fueled by fire and driven by courage -- what an example you are. Get some rest."

Choked up by her generosity, one of the firefighters posted about it on his Facebook wall (see above). He then learned that the waitress was the one in need: she was trying to raise money for a wheelchair-accessible fan for her quadriplegic father.

He posted that on his page, too, and the GoFundMe campaign has long since surpassed its $17,000 goal. Donations are currently at $67,510.
