We love any party trend that that is an easy DIY but leaves our guests thinking we are master party planners. So if you are looking to add an some style and fun to your party, skip the regular balloons and streamers and head to the toy store for hula hoops because we are going to show you how to turn these childhood toys into chic and fabulous party decor.

If you are looking to add a little extra light and create ambiance and drama for your party, start by spray painting a few hula hoops with black spray paint. Then wrap white lights around the hoop, and secure the battery packs to the back of the hoop. Use fishing line to hang the hoops from the ceiling and to give them a floating effect.

If you are throwing a birthday bash, honor the birthday boy or girl with this fun and colorful balloon wreath. Start by wrapping colorful tape around the hoop and attach small balloons on the outside and then balloons that spell out their age inside. This hula hoop wreath would be perfect behind a high chair for any one-year-old's birthday or as a backdrop for pictures.

If you are displaying photos at a your party, skip the regular frames and create this beautiful hoop frame instead. Using ribbon and flowers, hang pictures of the guests of honor inside the hoop. We love the look of the black and white photos but color or sepia toned pictures would be beautiful, too.
