Oven Fries with Homemade Ketchup for #NationalFrenchFry Day!

Happy #NationalFrenchFry Day to every one! If there is one thing we love its potatoes that have been deep fried to perfection. But that's not always the healthiest option. Buddy Valastro is here to give us a much easier and healthier version with his baked oven fries with homemade ketchup. This is the perfect way to satisfy all your french fry cravings on this glorious food holiday. Treat yourself and enjoy!


You will need:

Olive oil

Diced onion and garlic

1 Tsp mustard

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup red wine vinegar

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1 can San Marzanos crushed tomatoes


Add olive oil, diced onion, and garlic to a pot and cook until soft. Then add mustard and brown sugar and mix until incorporated. Combine 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar and 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar, pour into the pot and let simmer. Then pour one can of San Marzanos crushed tomatoes into the pot and mix. Cook this for 20 minutes and remove from stove and pour mix into blender. Blend the ingredients together until you reach a smooth, thick consistency. Pour into bowl and serve!


You will need:

Olive oil


1/2 tbsp each of basil, coriander, oregano, and garlic powder

Salt and pepper


To make fries, first you must peel the potatoes. Once peeled, cut potatoes in half long ways and place cut potatoes in a bowl of water. Add 1/2 tablespoon each of basil, coriander, oregano, and garlic powder into a separate bowl. Strain the potatoes and add olive oil to potatoes and toss with hands. Season with salt and black pepper while tossing. Continue tossing while coating potatoes with the remaining spices. Lay potatoes flat on a sheet pan and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and put in broiler for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and enjoy!
