One Bride’s Twist on The Traditional Father-Daughter Wedding Dance

Much like the walk down the aisle, the kiss after the I-do's and the cake-cutting, the father-daughter dance between the bride and her dad is a longstanding wedding tradition that many do as a matter of course. For one bride, though, it just didn't feel like a fit for her personality.

"My daughter has always found her own path," the father of the bride, Jim Mickunas, wrote of bride Kandice Mickunas in a caption on YouTube. "She played flag football at 6. She hated wearing dresses. She wore a tuxedo to her first communion. She lettered in soccer and track. She then became an engineer for the largest automaker in the world when she was 22."

And so, instead of a slow dance to "What a Wonderful World" -- which is what they did for a moment as they took the dancefloor -- these two played a game of father-daughter catch to "Centerfield."
