Every amateur baker needs a few go-to recipes for quick breads -- fast, simple, and delicious loaves that you can take to a friend who just had a baby, slice for a potluck or bake sale, or whip up for a last minute coffee date or dinner party dessert -- and almond snickerdoodle bread from Food52 is one that should definitely go on your must-try list.

Adding plain, whole milk yogurt to the batter, writes recipe author Posie Harwood, "gives the loaf a tender crumb and wonderfully moist texture." And since snickerdoodle cookies are traditionally topped with cinnamon, the bread includes an inside layer of cinnamon sugar along with a topping of cinnamon sugar and almonds. Harwood suggests an extra topping of confectioners sugar glaze to satisfy guests with a more intense sweet tooth and, since the bread freezes well, you can make sure you always have one at the ready for your next event (assuming it makes it to the freezer before your family devours it, of course).
