Not long after one Texas family gave birth to a beautiful baby boy did they have to start treatment for plagiocephaly, commonly known as flat head syndrome. Young Jonas was born with a large head which caused him to sleep on one side, creating a flat spot on his skull. Thankfully this syndrome treatable by wearing special helmets that bring the baby's head shape back to normal. 3-year-old Camila, Jonas's older sister, felt bad that Jonas was the only one wearing a head piece and did not want him to feel left out. She brought up the suggestion that the whole family wear helmets to support him.

The Gutierrez family loved the idea and decided to get out the old biking helmets from the closet and wear them around the house. "Any time Camila goes up to him with her little helmet, he beams," Shayna, Jonas's mother, told People. Everyone on social media was beaming too once photos were tweeted out about this family's awesome idea. Families immediately replied with pictures of their babies smiling in helmets. The Gutierrez family is so grateful for all the love and support that they have been receiving.

"Parenting and life, in general, is beautiful, but it's hard and challenging," Shayna says. "We wouldn't be able to do it without our community. We're fortunate Jonas' helmet is something that hardly affects our day-to-day lives, but there are other families dealing with a range of issues that kids could have."

Doctors told the Gutierrez family that Jonas will only have to wear the helmet for 3 to 6 months to get his head to a healthy shape. Good thing he has the best support team out there!
