Fall is upon us, a wonderful season to start fresh, the leaves change and perhaps some of your habits do too. Perhaps this summer you had one too many glasses of white wine and you're looking to get your body back in check -- but you don't want to forego the fall flavors. This Pumpkin Spice Kombucha is just what you need!

What you need:

  • 4cups Kombucha (single ferment)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 Liter Bottle
Instructions via Health Starts in the Kitchen:
  1. Add the pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, ginger, and sugar to your bottle
  2. Fill with kombucha, leaving at least 1/2 inch of headspace, depending on the shape of the container.
  3. Cap tightly and shake gently to combine.
  4. Allow to ferment 3 to 7 days or until kombucha is carbonated to your liking.
  5. Move bottles to refrigeration for storage.
  6. When you are ready to drink it, open carefully, without shaking, to avoid spilling the bubbly kombucha over the top of the bottle.
  7. Strain kombucha through a small strainer in order to remove ginger and any clumps of pumpkin pie spice. Serve cold.
