Make These Patriotic “Cake Boss” 4th of July Cupcakes

Buddy celebrates his American heritage by making a cake in honor of Lady Liberty herself, while Mauro finally realizes his goal of becoming a U.S. citizen.

From Candyland to zombies, there's no theme that Buddy Valastro and the crew at Carlo's Bakery hasn't tackled. And they definitely know how to make the perfect holiday-themed treat. This 4th of July, steal their tasty recipe for cupcakes, first seen on Us Weekly. Don't worry if you're not a baker -- the recipe uses Buddy's delicious baking products. Buddy Valastro's Rockin' Red, White and Bada Blue Cupcakes


INGREDIENTS
  • 1 box of Cake Boss Va Va Velvet Cake and Cupcake Mix (find a store near you)
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tubs of Cake Boss Creme de la Cream Cheese Icing
  • 1 bottle of Cake Boss Red, White and Blue Sprinkles


DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare pans to keep from sticking by lightly coating the sides and bottom of pans with non-stick cooking spray or by using shortening and a flour dusting.
2. Combine cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water and custard cr?me pouch in large bowl. Blend on low speed for 30 seconds or until evenly mixed, then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter equally into cupcake pans.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for the bake times indicated on the box mix. The cupcakes are done when a toothpick inserted into the center of the cupcake comes out clean. Cool pans on wire rack for 15 minutes before removing the cake from the pans. Cool completely before icing.
4. Fill pastry bag with Cake Boss Creme de la Cream Cheese icing and insert tip into cupcakes to create filling. Frost the top of the cupcakes with same icing, and garnish with red, white and blue sprinkles for a patriotic cupcake!
