For every celebrity who couple who celebrates their marriage with an over-the-top ceremony, a three-day European extravaganza, or a reality show-worthy reception, there are plenty more who prefer to keep their big day from becoming a big deal. If your wedding style is small, private, and intimate -- instead of splashy and indulgent -- take inspiration from these five famous couples.

1. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell proposed to Dax Shepard on Twitter in June 2013, after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, but it wasn't until three years later that the couple showed off photos of their ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse. Shepard wears a black tuxedo and Bell a black top with an intricate statement necklace as they sign the marriage license, exchange vows, and embrace outside the county office. Total cost: $142.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were both just out of serious relationships -- her marriage to Scott Foley and his engagement to Jennifer Lopez -- when they got engaged in April 2005. Two months later they tied the knot on the beach in Turks and Caicos while Victor Garber, Garner's Alias costar, officiated. Blurry paparazzi photos show Garner in a cap sleeve, empire waist gown and a mid-length veil.

  1. Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser

Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel met Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser when she guest starred on his show as a love interest for his character, but Kartheiser told Vulture that they were "completely professional" while they were working together. After a year of dating and a year-long engagement, the couple got married in 2014 in Ojai, California, in a private ceremony for family and close friends. They were equally low-key about adding to their family: Their first child was born in fall 2015 , but they kept the news under wraps until May 2016.

  1. Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig

Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig are famously private about their relationship -- and that includes their wedding, which her rep confirmed to Celebuzz in June 2011, less than a year after they were rumored to have started dating. The ceremony happened on a Wednesday and had only four guests: Craig's daughter, Weisz's son, and two friends.

  1. Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen kept their guest list small, too: They were married in Paris in March 2010 with only six guests by their side. The couple had been engaged for six years, and the actress told People, "It's very important to me to have a beautiful ritual celebrated with my family and friends. And when you are in the public eye, to keep that private and to make it happen without it being really visible is really difficult."
