Josh is 27 and has his first kiss with Annalisa.

Will the first kiss lead to "happily ever after" or be the kiss of death? Singles everywhere ask themselves this question as they embark on dates with potential soulmates. Sometimes, they've met through friends, sometimes by chance, and sometimes on Tinder. TLC's "Love At First Kiss" changes the love game. This show breaks singles' boundaries by having them go beyond their comfort zones and kiss a total stranger, without introduction, to find out if one kiss can lead to everlasting love.

On Wednesday's premiere, we met Josh, a 27 year old sweetheart, who chose to have his first kiss on television. Watch the video above to see his first kiss with Annalisa.

We asked Josh about his experience on the show in this interview. Here's what he had to say:

Why did you want to have your first kiss on TV?

I wanted to have my first kiss on TV so that I could share a special moment in my life with all of my family, friends, and the entire world. I thought it would be a good experience to be vulnerable and open myself to try something new.

What advice did you receive to prepare yourself for your first kiss?

Be confident - just being myself and being confident was what I was going for. I wanted to slip some tongue, but clearly when the time came my method and planning were not executed properly.

How did you research kissing techniques?

Lots of YouTube videos. I watched the top 10 movie kisses of all time. My favorites were Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in The Titanic and Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in The Notebook. I watched them as they made out passionately and that's the way I wanted to kiss!

What was going through your mind when you saw Annalisa?

Wow, she's a hottie with a naughty body ;) and hopefully my "little friend" stays down. I just was trying not to hyperventilate. From not ever kissing a girl your whole existence to kissing a random stranger on the spot is pretty intense.

Would you change anything if you could have your first kiss again?

For sure! I would definitely have changed that first kiss. It was like The Polar Express running off the tracks of Mount Everest. Absolute disaster! At the same time, I've had friends and some fans on Twitter who have said their first kiss was horrible too. It just happens that my first kiss is in front of millions of viewers worldwide.

How did it feel to watch yourself on TV?

I actually don't mind it. I was cracking up hysterically in laughter from some of the things I said and did. The "I wouldn't kiss my mom, or grandma the way I would kiss this girl" comment was hilarious. Also "I hope my little buddy stays down," was laugh out loud comedy. When I saw that first kiss, I realized how awkward and nervous I really was.

How has the viewer feedback been for you since premiere?

The fans and viewers on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have been absolutely wonderful. I have had some soccer moms from Ohio tell me how adorable I am. It's nice to have positive reinforcement. I was overwhelmed by the Twitter fans who came to my defense when Annalisa stood me up. The fans are amazing and I am grateful for them. They referred to me as nice, sweet, and a down to earth good guy. It really was heartwarming.

What did your family think? Did they watch it?

Yes, they watched it at their home in Washington state. My mom didn't think it was as bad as she thought it would be. The dating aspect was what my mom enjoyed, but the kissing aspect not as much. My dad thought it was hilarious and that the show was good. My grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts all had a viewing party at my grandma's house. Their reactions were sweet.

What advice would you share for other people who are preparing for their first kiss?

Do your research! Be prepared but don't overthink things like I did. Be willing to be able to go with the flow. Let the situation be fluid and be passionate. Also, close your eyes and open your mouth! I hear that helps. Things might not happen the way you want, but be open to change.
