If you are dreaming about beachy waves and sun kissed hair but have somehow ended up with a frizzy and dry mess on top of your head, don't reach for the baseball hat just yet. You can still have that glorious summer hair and rescue your strands from the heat and humidity. The key to keeping your summer hair healthy all season long is moisture and protection.

Mix in daily conditioner with your dry-shampoo routine. You don't have to wash your hair every day, but you should condition your hair every day in the summer months. From lathering up in the shower to conditioning products while styling, you'll want to coat your hair in moisture to keep it from drying out. Since your dry shampoo is drying up oil, you might want to skip a few days of the dry shampoo--as hard as this may be--and deep condition your hair to revive the look and feel of your hair.

Put down the blow dryer and embrace the braid and bun. Adding heat to your hair during summer months can be damaging and drying. So skip the blow out and opt for a stylish braid, bun, or wear your hair naturally. If blow drying is a must, leave the heat on the lowest setting, use a nozzle, and dry your hair once it is damp instead of soaking wet.

For blondes that spend their days floating in the pool, you might end up with tints of green throughout your hair. To keep your blonde hair golden, drench your hair with fresh water and coat with conditioner. Leave the conditioner in your hair while you take a dip in the pool. The conditioner creates a potecctivve layer between your hair and damaging chlorine. If your hair is already looking green, create a thick paste with baking soda and water and paint the paste onto your hair. Rinse and repeat to wash out the green.

Choose gentle shampoos during the summer months. You might try to strip the dirt and grime from your hair with your regular shampoo, but in the summer, you are also stripping away that precious moisture. Try skipping a few shampoos or look for gentle, sulfate-free shampoos during the summer.

Rehydrate your face with a cooling mask and do the same for your hair. Coat your hair with Aragon oils, coconut oil, or avocado to deep condition and restore shine. Paint the oils onto your hair, wrap your hair inside a shower cap, and relax while the oils work their magic.
