Let's be honest: The clock hits 3 o'clock and all you want to do is put your head down and catch a few z's. But most people don't have the luxury of a daily nap, so here are a few coffee-free ways to beat the afternoon slump, courtesy of Reactions Everyday Chemistry.

1. Watch cat videos. When you're feeling tired, these enjoyable videos will make you happier and boost your attention to detail. It can also decrease cortisol levels.

2. Get a glass of water. Dehydration can lead to fatigue -- and just losing 1 percent of your body's water can hurt your concentration.

3. Shake your groove thing. Dancing and other forms of exercise can boost endorphins, which make you happier and more productive. Listening to your favorite tunes can also give you a boost of feel-good chemicals like serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. Hello, productivity!

4. Get some light. If you are stuck inside all day, get outside to get vitamin D. Bright lights can increase alertness and can help you stay awake during the day.
