Smiles for Scarlette

Like toddler, like kitty: Scarlette Tipton was born with an abnormally large left arm, and diagnosed with Undifferenciated Spindle Cell Sarcoma. Her parents were told that the Sarcoma could easily morph into cancer, so they had her arm, shoulder, clavicle and scapula amputated.

The two-year-old suffered through 19 surgeries, and still isn't been able to walk on her own.

Her parents wanted to do something sweet for her, so they adopted a kitten. One that's just like her. Scarlette now has a three-legged kitten named Doc.

The family adopted Doc from the San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus. "We wanted a little kitten to have her grow up with, so she has something that's just like her," her mother Simone Tipton told the website Love Meow.

"Scarlette was really excited, she absolutely loves cats. She did notice that Doc had staples on her side and said 'owies'." continued Tipton. "I let her know that she had owies just like her, and she placed her hand on her side and just nodded."
