The holiday season is the perfect time to start family traditions your kids will love and remember for a lifetime. So before the hustle and bustle of the season comes to a close, grab your kids and enjoy the holidays by starting some new traditions. Here are a few of our favorites.

Bake Cookies Together- Get into the kitchen and whip up some fun and sweet treats with your kids. If baking makes you nervous, don't worry because we've got all the tips to bake Christmas cookies like the Cake Boss. Plus you can keep the mess to a minimum if you cover your baking and decorating surface with plastic wrap for easy cleanup and put the icing into condiment containers so your kids can squeeze the icing onto cookies. When you and your baking assistants are done, give the cookies as gift or simply enjoy them with your kids.

Go for a Drive and Look at Lights- Whether you are driving through neighborhoods or professional light displays, grab some hot coco, cookies, and you kiddos and enjoy the beautifully decorated lights before they are gone. Turn on some Christmas music and sing along as you all enjoy beautiful holiday lights.

Give Back- Since this time of year is also about being grateful for what we have and helping others, start a tradition where you include your children in helping others in your community. Whether you are donating items or volunteering your time, make giving back to others an activity you share with you kids during the holidays.

Find Holiday Train Rides or Tree Lighting Ceremonies in Your Area- Find these festive activities near your home and make it an activity you and your family can enjoy every year. These activities are perfect for family time, getting everyone into the holiday spirit and for supporting your community.

Create a Christmas Countdown- From an advent calendar for each family member to reading a new holiday book each night, create your own Christmas countdown that everyone in your family will love and look forward to each season. For the holiday books, try wrapping up the books in green and red tissue paper, numbering each book, and displaying the books in a large basket.
