Every rescued pet adoption is cause for celebration, but when 5-year-old dog Beauty found her new family at the Hawaiian Humane Society in Honolulu recently, the staff was even more thrilled than usual: Beauty's adoption marked the first time in more than a century that the shelter had no pets available.

Staff cheered as Beauty and her new owner left the shelter in a video posted on the Hawaiian Humane Society Facebook Page. Spokeswoman Suzy Tam told ABC News, "We just really wanted to celebrate Beauty's adoption and the fact that we were able to clear the shelter for the first time ever." Meanwhile Beauty, unconcerned with her newfound celebrity, looks completely at home in the arms of her happy new owner.
