Get the Recipes from Joy and Austin’s Engagement Dinner

On March 2, 2017, Joy Duggar of TLC's "Counting On" became engaged to her childhood friend, Austin Forysth. Austin surprised Joy with rustically romantic dinner in the mountains to celebrate the occasion. The handsome couple dined on venison, grilled potatoes, and green beans. Check out Austin's recipes for the feast and surprise a loved one with a special meal!

Main Course: Venison

Ingredients:

  • 1lb venison loin
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Steak seasoning

Directions:

  • Marinate the venison overnight in the Worcestershire sauce.
  • The next day, pat dry and coat in seasoning.
  • Preheat your grill for 30 minutes before grilling.
  • Place meat on grill and cook to your desired doneness.*


Side Dish: Grilled Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • Russet potatoes (1 per person)
  • Salt
  • Tin foil

Directions:

  • Chop russet potatoes.
  • Season with salt.
  • Put the potatoes in tin foil and fold sides to make a packet.
  • Place packet on heated grill and cook for 25-30 minutes.


Side Dish: Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • Green beans
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

Directions:

  • Preheat olive oil in a cast iron skillet on the grill.
  • Place green beans in the skillet and cook until tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
