Four Major Things You’ll Learn in Jazz’s Memoir

posted: 08/09/17

In Jazz's memoir, "Being Jazz: Life as a (Transgender) Teen," Jazz shares her very public transgender journey, as she inspires people to accept the differences in others while they embrace their own truths.

Jazz fully opens up here, and her stories, as per usual, are so inspiring. Check out our four favorite topics she covers here.

1. Bullying

It's no surprise that Jazz has faced bullying and discrimination, but our girl is never one to back down. Here, she talks about how she faces up to the bullies and stands up for her friends.

2. Adolescence

On top of being targeted for her gender identity, Jazz is in high school and deals with all of the classic trials that come with it. That means school, frenemies, and dating. Making the journey from girl to woman is never easy--especially when you began your life in a boy's body.

3. Family

Through it all, Jazz's family has been beside her on this journey, standing together against those who don't understand the true meaning of tolerance and unconditional love. Jazz has countless examples of how her parents have helped her through this process.

4. Education

At the end of the day, Jazz is willing to open her life up to the public in order to educate others about the LGBTQ+ community. Through all the challenges she's faced, she continues to educate others about her life as a transgender teen.
