If you are looking for a way to get outside more and enjoy the gorgeous spring weather, then it might be time to break out the gardening tools and create a little zen garden for yourself. So whether you have a green thumb or yours is a little more a shade of black, you can quickly transform any garden space with a few spring upgrades.

A little rock and roll- To create balance and keep the natural look of your garden, add different sized rocks throughout your green space. From borders to large and small boulder accents, mixing trees, plants, flowers, and rocks will give your garden a fresh spin for spring.

Make a statement- To add big bold statements to small and large spaces, go for statement planters. You can add miniature flowering and fruit trees, exotic flowers, or tall and colorful plants to any space that is looking drab and lacking color and pop. You'll find amazing statement planters at your local hardware store but you can also find them at discount home furnishing stores too.

Make it work- If there is a part of your garden that refuses to grow and no matter what you do, that space is just not working, consider adding something interesting like planters, garden art, an upcycled wheel barrel for flowers, or even add a rock garden or a small waterfall. Transplant any flowers that are thriving and turn that space into something different and unique.

Light it up- After all the work you've done, you'll want to enjoy your garden during the day and at night. Add solar lighting throughout your garden for interesting paths and angles, and at night, you'll have a dimly lit and peaceful space to enjoy. If you are hosting a party, you can add additional lighting or even heater to allow your guests to enjoy your greenspace.

Go heavy on the greens- If you are looking for drama, edge, and creativity, use a lot of green. You'll have year round color and you'll be able to create beautiful and professional looking garden spaces.

Do the basics- from edging, weeding, and even power washing, you can make a big difference in your garden if you take the time to do the basics. Even if you don't have the time, money, or energy to add to your garden this spring, spending some time outdoors in your garden completing these tasks will make a huge difference in the appearance.
