When Christine Quinn got engaged to her fiance Patrick Quinn (no relation), she knew exactly who she was going to ask to be her bridesmaid: Her 89-year-old grandma Elizabeth Govern. Govern, who goes by Nana Betty, is one of Quinn's closest friends, so it made total sense.

"While she doesn't live that close, we have continually made it a point to spend as much time together as possible," Quinn told the Huffington Post. "She just has an amazing sense of humor and outlook on life that I strive to emulate every day. Everyone loves her."

Nana Betty was married to Quinn's late grandfather for more than 50 years, and initially balked at the idea of being a bridesmaid. "She asked me about 10 times, 'Are you sure?' and 'Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?'" Quinn said. "A few times she even said 'All of your bridesmaids are young and pretty, why would you want me?' Obviously Nana is beautiful too. Just look at those photos!" Sweetwater Portraits really captured the love between Nana Betty and Christine!

The day of, Govern totally held her own with her fellow young bridesmaids. "You're only as old as you feel and I feel young today," Govern said.
