    All the Colors

With the rise of food bloggers and apps like Pinterest and Instagram, it's no wonder that we're all about (some would even say obsessed with) pretty food. But, in the past few months, chefs and bakers are taking things to the next level with the rapid rise of rainbow foods (remember unicorn poop bark?). First, rainbow cake, then rainbow bagels, then rainbow pizza, and now rainbow cappuccinos!

And there are scientific reasons why the psychedelic appeal of rainbow foods calls to us -- studies show that colorful foods are often associated with certain flavors and brighter foods may actually seem more exciting to eat. One study even found that changing the color of a plate may change the perceived flavors of food!

If these Lisa Frank-inspired foods appeal to you, there's no reason to stand in line for hours to get a bright colored treat. Instead, we hunted down ways to make these foods in your own home. Though we can't guarantee they'll turn out just like the picture, we're sure they'll be absolutely delicious.

    Rainbow Bagels

This is the rainbow food OG, and it gained popularity when Brooklyn-based Bagel Store decided to test out a new colorful breakfast food. Lines formed around the block, it was featured on late night television shows, and imitators tried their hand at testing out their own multicolored bread. Spoon University shared this amazing recipe and upgraded it by adding Funfetti cream cheese (because, why not?).

    Rainbow Pizza

Who wouldn't want to chow down on this colorful pizza after a night out (or really any time of day). Oh Bite It uses your usual pizza ingredients -- dough, sauce, mozzarella, seasoning, etc. -- but adds a bit of food coloring to take it to the next level.

Looking for a healthier version? Gimme Delicious has a more low-cal version using a cauliflower crust and tons of brightly colored veggies? Either way, we think both of these rainbow pizzas have a place on your dinner table.

    Rainbow Grilled Cheese

We didn't think it was possible to like grilled cheese any more but this Technicolor grilled cheese, which includes sprinkles, blew our foodie minds. This would be especially cute at a kid's birthday party, or, really any time. The trend began with Kala Toast, a Hong Kong-based restaurant, but we have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of these stateside. Watch Pop Sugar's video (below) on how to create one yourself:

    Rainbow Cake

What's more cheerful than slicing into a cake and seeing all your favorite colors? Divas Can Cook has an awesome recipe for a beautiful layered cake. Using buttermilk cake batter and a little food coloring, you'll bake six skinny layers and cover them with cream cheese icing. What could be better than that?
