    Bubble Wrap Is Your Friend

If you love the look of flowers floating in water for your centerpieces, all you need is a little bubble wrap. Cut the bubble wrap into small squares and make sure you are cutting around the air pockets and not through them. Poke a hole in the center of the square and slip the flower stem through. Now your beautiful flowers have a little raft to float on and since the bubble wrap is clear, no one will see it. My Creative Workbook shows you how to do it below.

    Keep Flowers Fresh

To make your flowers open quickly and look fuller, start by cutting the stems at a 45 degree angle, as Design Mom does below. This helps the flowers take in more water so they lasts longer. Then put the stems in warm water for about a minute. Then move the flowers to cold water for twenty minutes. This will open your flowers to their maximum size for your big day.

    Make a Tape Grid

Interesting vases, flea market finds, and different styles of containers are perfect for your wedding centerpieces, but sometimes flowers topple over in these shallow containers. To fix this, just make a grid with Scotch tape to hold flowers in place, as this blog from Apartment Therapy shows you. Your guests will never see the tape and your flowers will look beautiful and stay in place.

    Keep Buds in Place

Make your arrangements look like an expert florist created them by bunching your flowers together and criss crossing the stems in the vase to make the buds stay in place, like this one from Country Living.

    Hide Your Stems

Hide ugly stems inside a vase with a little creativity: large leaves wrapped around the inside of the vase, slices of fruit like lemons, or even decorative beads or plastic jewels, like this idea from Bebuzee. This will give your arrangements a chic look and make the flowers look fuller too.
