Let's say you decide to start watching your diet and make some important lifestyle changes. You know you have to cut back on the cheeseburgers, the cookies, and the sodas. You want to replace these with healthy options. Easy, right? It turns out, some of those foods we thought were healthy aren't doing us many favors.

The New York Times surveyed hundreds of nutritionists and had them label foods as healthy or unhealthy. Then they asked the same thing to a sample of the American public. It turns out there's a ton of foods that people unanimously agreed were good for you, while nutritionists shook their heads. Here are the highlights:

1. Granola Bars
More than 70 percent of the public though granola was a healthy snack, while only 28 percent of experts agreed.Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 1.26.41 PM

2. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has picked up a reputation for having many health and beauty benefits, but nutritionists aren't convinced. Less than a third of nutritionists labeled coconut oil as healthy.

America loves its fro-yo. Most people see this cool treat as the healthy alternative to ice cream, but experts wouldn't call it healthy at all. Less than a third of nutritionists classified frozen yogurt as healthy.

5. Orange Juice
It turns out experts aren't convinced that your morning OJ is good for you. Most wouldn't say it's terrible, but you definitely think it's a lot healthier than your nutritionist does, so don't overdo it. 78 percent of people thought orange juice was healthy, while only 62 percent of experts agreed.
