If you are in need of an easy meal that takes 30 minutes to make, then look no further. Spaghetti squash is a trending vegetable that we have been seeing all over our social media feeds. If you cook it properly, the texture becomes something that resembles angel hair pasta. People have been using this as a substitute for noodles to cut back on carbs and load up on veggies.

This recipe is for spaghetti squash with an easy turkey Bolognese style sauce. Just throw the squash in the oven and let the sauce simmer on the stove until it is thick and delicious! The recipe also calls for some real spaghetti squash noodles. A common complaint with lower carb meals is that people simply don't feel satisfied. A lot of times this feeling will lead to a nighttime trip to the nearest fast food chain to satisfy that hunger. By adding in some pasta to the mix, you are making this dish extra filling while still cutting back on a lot of the carbs.

This entire recipe is only 4 ingredients! Just 4 ingredients can make a delicious, healthy and quick meal. This will definitely become one of your weeknight staples!

You will need:

  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • 1 package ground turkey
  • 1 jar of store bought tomato sauce
  • Spaghetti noodles (optional)
  • Directions:
  1. Microwave spaghetti squash for 5 minutes (makes it easier to cut)
  2. Cut in half and roast the spaghetti side down at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes
  3. While the squash is roasting, brown turkey in a pan and add a jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  4. Allow the sauce to simmer on low until the squash is cooked
  5. OPTIONAL: cook spaghetti noodles (amount based on preference)
  6. Take the squash out and scrape up the meat of the squash with a fork
  7. Add spaghetti noodles and sauce on top
  8. Enjoy!
